The BetterMiles app is the engine behind the School Charity Challenge. It’s how students track their activity, see their charitable impact, and stay motivated throughout the friendly competition among and within schools.
Before the challenge begins, students download the BetterMiles app and sign up with their email. They enter the challenge code shared by their organizer, choose their school and grade, then select the charity they want their miles to support.
Once the challenge begins, the app automatically tracks every mile which is then converted into real dollars based on a pre-set price per mile donated by sponsors—companies and parents. At the end of the Challenge, all pledgers will receive an email with a direct link to the official GoFundMe.com page of the charity that will receive the donation, based on the mileage completed by the students for each charity.
